Involving Uninsured Vehicle

Traffic accidents caused by an uninsured foreign motor vehicles on the territory of Bulgaria:

- Call the Traffic Police
- Obtain a Police Accident Report
- take a note of the date of the traffic accident, the registration plate number of the responsible vehicle , the make and type of the vehicle

If the responsible vehicle is with a registration plate number from a country of the EEC, Switzerland, Andorra a Croatia – refer to the NBBMI.

If the responsible vehicle is with a registration plate number from a third country – refer to the Guarantee Fund.

Traffic accidents abroad, caused by an uninsured foreign motor vehicle.

Accident in a Member State of the EEC, Switzerland, Croatia and Andorra:

- Call the Traffic Police
- Obtain a Police Accident Report

- If in the country, where the accident occurred, it is not obligatory to call the police, only a bilateral Agreed Statement of Facts on Motor Vehicle Accident could be completed
- fill in the date of the traffic accident, the registration plate number of the responsible vehicle, the make and type of the vehicle
- the Statement should obligatory be signed by the responsible driver as well

Refer to the Compensation Body of Republic of Bulgaria to claim your damages.

Accidents in countries outside the EEC, Switzerland, Croatia and Andorra:

Refer to the Guarantee Fund of the country, where the traffic accident took place.
